I’ll confess, previously, I had terrible posture. It’s one of those things I kept in the back of my mind as something I knew I should work on, but never got around to it... until I had no choice. My back was killing me, my pelvic floor was letting me down, and my diastasis recti wasn't improving. I had finally arrived to the point where my chiropractor could do no more - he couldn't FIX me!
Improving my posture though abdominal breathing exercises and stretching has literally changed my life!

Do you have Mom Posture?
The ugly term “Mom posture” is used to describe the resting shoulder, head and pelvis positions that are far from being the body's ideal alignment. By hunching forward, we teach our body bad habits and the muscles interpret this slumped position as the body's natural posture over time.
This poor posture isn’t simply an esthetic issue. It can lead to many aches and pains like neck pain, back pain, headaches, digestive problems, hunched shoulders, joint degeneration, and even a mommy tummy!
Correct female posture is put to the test all day long. With a long list of movements like repetitive breastfeeding sessions, carrying the car seat, bending over repeatedly, baby wearing… all these positions can disrupt how the muscles in the neck, back, shoulders and pelvis function normally, and they can get worse if left untreated.
In most cases, Mom Posture can easily be fixed or prevented with the correct exercises and mindset. Just as the muscles and joints have been trained to hunch forward, they can be re-trained to find the correct resting position and alignment.
How to straighten posture for good health
Lengthen up Ladies! A proper female posture should give us a neutral side-on appearance, with your ears, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles in line.

All of these exercises I’m about to introduce are designed to be gentle on the body. But if you’ve done a lot of slumping in your life, practicing these exercises and correcting your posture may be challenging at first. You should never feel strained, but you may feel sore. You’ll be working on muscles that have been “untrained” or under utilized, but the exercises should never hurt or make any pain worse.
